At least 50 more Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s barbaric attack on the Palestinian Gaza Strip. They were killed in separate attacks across the besieged territory.
Meanwhile, more than 8 lakh Palestinians have fled Rafah due to the Israeli attack. Al Jazeera reported this information in a report on Friday (May 24).

At least 50 Palestinians have been killed in air and ground attacks by Israeli forces across the Gaza Strip, according to reports. Health officials and Hamas’ armed wing also reported heavy fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas-led fighters in the southern city of Rafah.
Israeli military tanks advanced further southeast of Rafah, advancing toward the city’s western district of Ibna and continuing operations in three eastern suburbs, residents said Thursday.

“The occupiers (Israeli forces) are trying to move further west,” a resident told Reuters on condition of anonymity. They are on the edge of Ibna, which is densely populated. They haven’t attacked it yet.’
He added, ‘We hear explosions, and we see that troops have attacked and black smoke is rising from there. It was another very difficult night.’

Simultaneous Israeli attacks on Gaza’s northern and southern edges this month have forced millions of Palestinians to flee their homes, and Israeli forces have also blocked key access routes for aid, raising the risk of famine.

The international community, including Israel’s close ally the United States, warned against launching a ground offensive in Rafah without a credible plan to protect civilians. The United States and others have also widely criticized Israel for the attack on the southern Gaza city. But Israel says it must advance against several battalions of Hamas fighters there.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, the main aid agency operating in Gaza, says that more than 800,000 people have fled Rafah since the beginning of May, when Israel began attacking the city of Rafah.

Suje van Meegan, the Norwegian Refugee Council’s emergency response leader in Gaza, said many civilians were still trapped there.

In a statement, he said, “The city of Rafah now consists of three completely different worlds: the eastern side is a primary war zone, the middle region has become a ghost town, and the population living in the western region is living in deplorable conditions.”
