The police recovered the body of a young man with three body parts and a severed head from a luggage in Mymensingh Sadar Upazila. On Sunday (June 2) afternoon, the body was recovered from the luggage lying in the river Sutia under the Mantala bridge on the Mymensingh-Tangail highway of the upazila.

The name of the deceased youth is Sourav. He is a resident of Ishwarganj upazila of Mymensingh. He is a student of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) in the capital, police said.

The police and the locals said that on Sunday morning, when the locals came to graze the cows, they found a luggage and a bloody head wrapped in paper in the Sutia canal under the bridge and reported to the police station. Later, the police went to the spot and recovered three parts of the body and a severed head from the side.
Faizur Rahman Tuhin, a member of Khagdohar Union Parishad of Sadar Upazila, said that when the locals informed me after seeing a human head lying there, I immediately informed the police. The man was brutally murdered.

Calling the incident a planned murder, Additional Superintendent of Police of Mymensingh Sadar Circle Shahinul Islam Fakir said that after killing the young man, the murderers filled the body without the head in the luggage and dumped the head wrapped in polythene near Patkhet from the bridge. A pillow was found along with his dismembered body in the luggage. The condition of the body looks like the throat and legs have been cut with a machine. After knowing the identity of the deceased, the police started the operation.
