China to Introduce New ‘K Visa’ for Young Scientists

China is set to launch a new visa category aimed at attracting young scientific and technological talent. Following a decision by the State Council, Premier Li Qiang has signed a decree amending regulations on the administration of foreigners’ entry and exit.



Under the changes, a “K Visa” will be added to China’s standard visa categories. The visa is designed specifically for qualified young scientists and technology professionals. Applicants must meet eligibility criteria set by Chinese authorities and submit the required documentation.



The new rules take effect on October 1. By opening this pathway, Beijing seeks to draw in overseas expertise and accelerate its scientific and technological progress.
