Local Government Adviser AF Hasan Arif commented that there is a conspiracy from outside regarding Chittagong Hill Tracts. He said, I want to see the message of the graffiti that I saw on the walls when I came to Rangamati in Chittagong Hill Tracts. There will be harmony; We will work together shoulder to shoulder. We all want harmony. But somewhere there is a rhythm. There is only one word on everyone’s lips when it comes to cadence – ‘conspiracy’. There is a conspiracy from outside to destroy our harmony.

Hasan Arif said these things to reporters after a special law and order meeting at Rangamati cantonment on Saturday (September 21). This high-level meeting of the government was held with representatives of various political parties and dignitaries of Rangamati to control the situation arising in the hills.

Hasan Arif said that the demand came in the meeting to investigate the incidents through a commission or committee and take proper action. The real culprits should be brought to justice. There should be no differences, no lack of harmony, we all want harmony.

At that time, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Ministry Advisor Supradip Chakma, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mainul Islam, Army Chittagong GOC Major General Mohammad Mainur Rahman, Divisional Commissioner Tofail Islam and related officials were present.
Representatives of BNP, Janashati Samiti, Jatiya Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolan, Hill Citizens Council, Transport Owners-Workers Association and civil society representatives presented their views and suggestions in the meeting.
