1 crore 29 lakh 80 thousand 367 animals are ready for sacrifice on Eid-ul-Azha, said the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Md. Abdur Rahman. Which is 4 lakh 44 thousand more than last time. Also, the minister also said that 3,000 cow markets will be held across the country.

He made this comment at an inter-ministerial meeting on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha in the conference room of the Directorate of Livestock on Thursday (May 16) afternoon to determine the demand for sacrificial animals, supply them and ensure that they can come freely from remote areas to Dhaka.

In the meeting, the minister said that the government is ready to complete the upcoming Qurbani. The government has taken several initiatives to complete the Qurbani properly and beautifully.

Besides, vigilance has been increased at the border to prevent illegal smuggling of sacrificial skins. Preparations have been made so that no one is harassed for bringing animals. Every haat will have a police team, through them anyone can take help. Preparations have also been made to sit down with the farmers, city corporation, law enforcement agencies to create a fair system. The minister said that efforts are being made to satisfactorily complete the future sacrifices in the overall sense.

Stating that the law and order forces will be vigilant in stopping extortion, the minister said that the law and order forces are taking all necessary measures to stop extortion on road. Every bazaar will have a police station. 1 crore 29 lakh 80 thousand 367 cows are ready for this year’s sacrifice.

This year there is more than 1 crore 39 thousand demand for Qorbani. When requested to ensure that no cows come to the country illegally as per the demands of the traders, the minister said that there is no chance of cows coming illegally.

At that time, farm representatives were also present in the meeting.
