29 people lost their lives in severe floods in India

Heavy rains and floods have claimed 29 lives in India’s Gujarat so far. About 50,000 people have been evacuated to safe places. Meanwhile, the country’s meteorological office has warned that the rainfall will increase further.

This information was revealed in a report of Indian broadcasting media NDTV on Thursday (August 29).

According to the report, 29 people have lost their lives so far due to heavy rains and floods in India’s Gujarat. Many rivers of the state are flowing over the boundary. Low-lying areas including roads and houses have been submerged in water.

Meanwhile, the country’s meteorological office has warned that the rainfall will increase further. Red alert has been issued in several districts. There is no chance of rain in Gujarat for now. Tomorrow 30th August may also rain very heavily.

Gujarat Relief Commissioner Alok Pandey said that around 50,000 people have been evacuated from the flood-affected areas. In addition to the National and State Disaster Relief Forces, the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard have been called to assist in rescue and relief operations.

According to an official notification, 140 reservoirs and 24 rivers in the state are flowing above the danger level.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday morning. He assured all necessary assistance.
