State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu said that even if India stops onion export, there will be no impact on Bangladesh. Onions will enter Bangladesh from India within the next three days.

The state minister said that onions will arrive by train from India today or tomorrow. Which will enter Bangladesh within three days.
In response to questions from reporters at an introductory meeting at the Tangail Press Club on Saturday (March 23) afternoon, he said, “I don’t know whether India has stopped onion exports or not.” I don’t know that there is any problem with onions.

He also said that the market will run at its own pace. If there is an increase of 5-10 taka, even if nothing is done about it, if someone hoards, action will be taken against him. No police action or magisterial action is required by the Ministry of Commerce for buying and selling in the normal market. He feels that there is sufficient supply of the product in the market and the prices are at a reasonable level.

Regarding the increase in the price of rice, the state minister said that rice is a matter of the Ministry of Food. He thinks that it is not right to say anything about another ministry.
