Ghazaria Fire Service in-charge Rifat Mallik said, “We rushed to the spot after receiving the news of the fire.” First, two units of Ghazaria Fire Service Station started working to extinguish the fire. Later eight more units from Narayanganj and Dhaka joined the fire fighting. Due to the presence of combustible material inside, there is a problem in fire fighting.

According to eyewitnesses and local sources, workers were working in that factory since morning. Around 1:30 in the afternoon, a fire was seen burning in the factory. Factory workers and locals tried to douse the fire locally. However, they failed due to the intensity of the fire. Three trawlers loaded with jute sand were stationed in the river near the factory.
