29 people died in a fire at a night club in Istanbul, Turkey. Several other people were injured in this fire.

According to the British media Sky News, this fire happened during the day on Tuesday (April 2). But the night club was not open at that time. There was renovation work going on.

The night club, located in Gayrettepe, Istanbul, was in the basement of a 16-story residential building.

Istanbul Governor Davut Gul said the fire had been brought under control. Those killed were believed to be doing renovation work.

The governor’s office in Istanbul said in a statement that at least one person was being treated at a hospital with burns.

A video posted by the Istanbul Fire Department on micro-blogging site X showed firefighters arriving at the scene with multiple fire engines. Besides, an ambulance is standing next to the smoke-covered building.

At least one person was seen being pulled out of the wreckage at that time.

Istanbul Mayor Ikrim Imamgolo Xe mourned the fire and said, “May God have mercy on those who lost their families.” I wish the injured a speedy recovery.”

Mayor Imamgolo said that work is now underway to assess the security of the building.

Initially, 15 people were reported dead in this fire. Later it was reported that 29 people were killed in this terrible fire accident. There is no word on whether the death toll may increase.
