Several people who went to withdraw money inside the bank said that the robbers were inside the bank for about five minutes. During this time they started shooting and looting all the money.

They said that after entering, the robbers grabbed the security guard’s weapon and left with sacks of money from customers, counters and vaults.

Several people who were present at the Thanchi market during the incident said that 15-20 of the robbers were guarding the Sangu Bridge next to the market with weapons. At least 20 terrorists entered Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank at the same time. They looted and left almost at the same time.

They also said that several police and Ansar members were in front of the bank during the incident. When the armed robbers stormed into the market, the police and Ansar members fled.

It was alleged that an armed group of hill terrorists attacked the Sonali Bank branch in Ruma and looted money during Tarawih prayers on Tuesday (April 2) night. At that time, it is alleged that they looted the weapons of the policemen engaged in law and order of the bank and kidnapped the manager of the bank, Nizam Uddin from the mosque.
