The US has imposed travel restrictions on its personnel to Israel amid fears that Iran could launch a retaliatory attack. The US embassy said it has asked its staff not to travel outside Greater Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Beersheba.

The US embassy said embassy staff were barred from leaving Jerusalem “as part of an increased precaution”.

Meanwhile, German airline Lufthansa has suspended its flights to Iran’s capital Tehran until Saturday amid tensions over a possible Iranian attack on Israel.

It was not clear until the last news that Iran would not attack Israel directly, but that some of their shadow forces would do it for them. It is widely believed that such an attack could happen within the next few days.

It should be noted that Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Syria eleven days ago. 13 people were killed in that attack. Several military officers lost their lives in the attack on the consulate. Among them was a senior Quds Force commander. He looked after the operations of the forces in Syria and Lebanon. Iran announced retaliation.
