In a refreshing update for consumers, the Bangladesh government has announced a reduction in fuel prices, effective from tomorrow. According to a gazette notification from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the prices of diesel and kerosene have been reduced by 75 paise per litre. Meanwhile, octane and petrol prices have seen a more substantial cut, by Taka 4 and Taka 3 per litre respectively.

With these adjustments, diesel and kerosene will now be priced at Taka 108.25 per litre. Octane and petrol prices are set to be Taka 126 and Taka 122 per litre, respectively. State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, Nasrul Hamid, earlier indicated the government’s intention to adjust fuel prices monthly based on the global market scenario. “Our aim is to revise fuel prices every month. Starting this month, we anticipate a decrease in prices, reflecting the global market,” he stated.

Nasrul Hamid also emphasized the government’s focus on reducing the price of diesel, given its widespread use across various sectors including transport. The adjustment in fuel prices is expected to have a notable impact on users, including the transportation sector, underscoring the government’s
