The deadline was set to complete the construction of the bridge within one year. But it could not be completed even in seven years. The under-construction bridge finally collapsed due to strong winds. However, there was no casualty in this incident.

On Monday night, a part of the bridge under construction in Peddapally district of Telangana, India, collapsed due to the wind. This incident created a sensation in the area. According to a report by the country’s media, NDTV, on Monday around 10:15 local time, two concrete girders in the middle of the two pillars of the bridge under construction collapsed due to strong winds. Locals fear that the remaining three girders of the bridge may collapse anytime.

Sikikonda Bakko Rao, a resident of Odedu village, 600 meters from the bridge, told NDTV that fortunately, a bus carrying 65 passengers passed under the bridge just a minute before it collapsed. Passengers of the wedding bus narrowly escaped being crushed under the concrete.

In 2016, the then Speaker of the Telangana Assembly S. Madhusudhan Chari and local MLA Putta Madhu inaugurated the construction of the nearly one kilometer long bridge on the banks of the Manair river. About 49 crore rupees have been allocated for the construction of the bridge.
