Chuadanga has recorded the highest temperature in the country this season. The people of the district are fed up with the violence. Load shedding has increased throughout the district with the onset of summer. People are suffering from heat due to repeated power outages. Public life is becoming unstable especially with children.

The maximum temperature recorded at Chuadanga was 42.7 degrees Celsius at 3 pm on Friday (April 26). Air humidity was 11 percent. This is the highest temperature in the country this season.

Jaminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga First Class Meteorological Observatory, said that the intense heat wave will continue over the district for a few more days. He told Dhaka Post that the temperature may increase further in the next three days. The temperature can rise up to 43 to 44 degrees. He requested everyone to be careful.

Meanwhile, load shedding has increased with the intense heat. The public life of Chuadanga has become fed up with this. Children and the elderly are suffering the most. Due to the increase in the use of AC and fans in summer, the consumption of electricity has also increased. As a result load shedding has increased. Staying at home during the day has become a liability. This includes mosquito bites at night. Due to frequent load-shedding with heat, the whole night has to be spent without sleep.

On the other hand, the number of diarrhea and child patients has increased in District Headquarters Hospital. The treatment is being carried out on the floor of the ward. Besides, there is pressure of patients in the outpatient department as well. The supervisor of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital said that 700-800 patients are receiving treatment due to heat every day. Moha: Ataur Rahman.

Demand for electricity has increased due to heat. But the electricity production has not increased compared to that, load shedding has increased, said Abu Hasan, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Chuadanga Zonal Office of Meherpur Palli Vidyut Samity.

He said that the demand for electricity in summer has increased in the district. The area under rural electrification has a demand of about 105 MW of electricity per day. There we are getting 90-92 MW. The capacity of our main grid can’t even pull it up. Load shedding is going on to meet the deficit.

Sabik Al Hasan, a resident of Chuadanga Sadar’s Padmabila Union, told Dhaka Post that the power goes off several times every night. We are in dire straits. I do not sleep at night.

Abdul Hakim of Sadar’s Makhaldanga village said that due to frequent loadshedding, staying at home is becoming difficult. Children at home are getting restless in the heat. When you go outside, it seems that the body is burning in the heat of the sun. On top of that, the suffering has increased due to night load shedding.
