Although he is associated with a political family, he has not directly participated in politics so far. However, even before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of the Gandhi family, has been giving hints about joining active politics.

The Congress has not yet finalized who will be fielded from Amethi, the family seat of the Gandhi family. In this situation, the name of Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert is floating. He wants to start his political journey by fighting from that seat, Robert has already expressed his desire. He claims that Amethi wants him.

Robert told NDTV that the whole country wants him to enter active politics.

According to Robert, the current MP from Amethi, Smriti Irani, has failed to keep her promises. So Amethi wants change. He further said, ‘Voices are coming from all over India. Everyone wants me to come into active politics because I have always been among the people of the country. I have campaigned in Amethi since 1999.’

Priyanka’s husband also claimed that Congress is far ahead of BJP after two rounds of elections. According to him, people want change. They want to get rid of BJP. BJP is misusing central agencies. The people of India are with the Gandhi family. Because, they see the hard work of Rahul and Priyanka every day.

It is not yet certain whether the Congress will give him a ticket from Amethi or not, but Robert has repeatedly claimed that the people there want him to contest from that seat.

He said, ‘Amethi wants a member of the Gandhi family to come here. They will win him with a large number of votes. The residents also hope that if I take my first step in politics or think of becoming an MP, it should be from Amethi.

It is to be noted that a few posters in support of Robert were put up in Amethi two days ago. It was written there, ‘The people of Amethi want Robert.’

Amethi is very important seat for Congress. In Amethi, a Congress stronghold, some member of the Gandhi family has always contested and won. Sanjay Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi contested from this seat in the past.

Congress has won from this center till 2019. But BJP’s Smriti Irani won this seat against Rahul in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
