The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup will begin tomorrow (Sunday) at dawn. The host USA and Canada will meet in the opening match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas at 6:30 am Bangladesh time. The Americans gained a lot of confidence by winning the series against Bangladesh in the first encounter. The two teams met in a three-day match in 1844, where Canada won by 23 runs. They also defeated Nepal in this World Cup preparation match.

Both the USA-Canada teams are going to play the T20 World Cup for the first time. As hosts, the United States did not have to play any qualifiers, and Canada secured the ticket by winning the American qualifiers. With the opening match of the World Cup in Dallas, there is no such excitement. Several warm-up matches including Bangladesh have been washed away by rain here in recent times. As a result, there are concerns about the 7,000-capacity Dallas gallery being completely full. Apart from this, ICC has not officially announced anything about organizing the opening ceremony.

On the opening day of the World Cup in Guyana, another host West Indies and Papua New Guinea will meet in the second match at 8:30 pm Bangladesh time. The Windies Cricket Board has announced to organize a program before that match. While hosting the World Cup in the United States has not attracted some attention, the Caribbean island is an exception. They have received the captains of the countries where they have set foot.
