If Hamas agrees to the cease-fire offer offered by the US, Israel will also agree. White House National Security Adviser John Kirby claimed this on Sunday (June 2).
Last Friday, US President Joe Biden proposed a three-phase ceasefire. It called for an end to all attacks on Gaza and the release of all hostages.

In this regard, Kirby said, “(Biden’s announced) proposal was Israel’s proposal. Our hope is that if Israel agrees to this proposal that has been sent to Hamas, Israel will say we agree.”
Immediately after Biden made the offer, Hamas said they were positive about the offer. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he will not end the war in Gaza until Hamas is eliminated.
However, an Israeli official told US media outlet CBS News that the offer Biden made had been approved by Prime Minister Netanyahu and the wartime cabinet. But Netanyahu has said he will not agree to a permanent cease-fire until all hostages are freed from Gaza and Hamas’ military and administrative structures are destroyed.

More than 36,000 Palestinians have been killed so far in the war between Hamas and Israel for about 8 months. Those who survived suffered from famine and other problems. For this reason, all the countries of the world are now emphasizing the ceasefire.
