While sports entertain millions of viewers, they also serve as a platform for unscrupulous groups to organize gambling rings. Recently, numerous companies have sprung up, setting up online gambling traps, causing many to lose their wealth.
The web series “Baji” has been created, inspired by stories of betting in cricket. Directed by Arifur Rahman, the series features Tahsan Khan playing the role of a cricketer. It is not confirmed whether Tahsan portrays a real-life cricketer. This series marks Tahsan’s return to acting after a long break and is his first web series. Previously, Tahsan ventured into OTT platforms with Golam Sohrab Dodul’s web film “Chok.”
In “Baji,” Tahsan is joined by Rafiath Rashid Mithila, who plays a journalist. This series marks the return of the duo to the screen following their separation. The cast also includes Mim Mantasha, Manoj Pramanik, Nazia Haque Orsha, Shahadat Hossain, Partha Sheikh, Tasnuva Tisha, and Abrar Athar, among others.
Director Arifur Rahman said, “The story of ‘Baji’ revolves around cricket. For the first time, a Bengali web content will feature a story centered on cricket. Everyone has worked very hard for this series. Tahsan and Mithila went through several months of preparation before the shooting began. Viewers will be able to see their hard work on screen.”
It has been revealed that this seven-episode series will be released on the OTT platform Chorki during Eid-ul-Azha.
