The office schedule of all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions of the country is returning to normal. This decision will be effective from June 19.
On Thursday (June 6) the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard.

It is said that the office schedule of all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions in the country will continue from 9 am to 5 pm from Sunday to Thursday from 19 June (the first working day after Eid-ul-Azha) until further instructions. However, there will be a break for Zohar prayer and midday meal from 1 pm to 1:30 pm. Friday and Saturday are weekends.
Emergency services will be outside the scope of the new office schedule, the notification said. Bangladesh Supreme Court and banks, insurance and other financial institutions will determine the schedule of their respective authorities.
Prior to this, the schedule was decided in the Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office on Monday (June 3). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary in the briefing at the Secretariat. Mahbub Hossain told reporters this information.

Cabinet Secretary said, office hours have changed. Office hours in 2022 are from 9 am to 4 pm. It has been changed from 9 am to 5 pm in the Cabinet discussion on the proposal of the Ministry of Public Administration.

He said, Sunday to Thursday office hours will be from 9 am to 5 pm, 1 pm to 1.30 pm and there will be a midday break. Friday and Saturday will be closed weekly.

Earlier, from November 15, 2022, the office hours of Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous and Semi-Autonomous Institutions were made from 9 AM to 4 PM. The government took such a decision at that time to save electricity and energy.
