Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid a courtesy call on Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The meeting was held at ITC Maurya Hotel in New Delhi on Monday (June 10).

Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud gave this information while talking to journalists in New Delhi.

The Foreign Minister said that various bilateral issues were discussed in the meeting with the President of Sri Lanka. Ranil Wickramasinghe thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the assistance of Bangladesh during the extreme economic crisis of that country. Bangladesh’s technology in agriculture and Sri Lanka’s expertise in tourism and investment cooperation were discussed.

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar held a meeting with Sheikh Hasina after her meeting with Sri Lankan President.
Stating that Jaishankar’s meeting with the Prime Minister was heartwarming, the Foreign Minister said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated him on his re-election as Minister, recalling the sincerity of Jaishankar when he was the Foreign Minister of India. At the same time, he expressed his intention to work with India.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited Sri Lankan President and Indian Foreign Minister to visit Bangladesh at a convenient time.

Earlier, Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Tobago on Sunday (June 9) evening.

Sheikh Hasina reiterated Bangladesh’s interest in importing hydropower from Bhutan through India and said that the necessary tripartite agreement has already been discussed with India.
The Prime Minister of Bhutan expressed readiness in this regard and thanked the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for building a burn unit in his country and providing necessary medicines for one year.

On this day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid a courtesy call on senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani at his residence. At this time, the Prime Minister had a personal conversation with 96-year-old LK Advani.
