Interim government chief advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus directed the members of the advisory council to stand by the flood affected people. Besides, he said that he is constantly monitoring the flood situation.

He gave this instruction at the cabinet meeting held at Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna on Thursday (August 22).
In the evening, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said in a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy, “Today, the flood situation was discussed in detail in the Cabinet meeting and Dr. Yunus asked the members of the advisory council to visit the flood-affected areas.

He said that 10 districts were affected by floods and lastly 3.6 lakh people were affected by floods. He mentioned that the advisers will visit these districts to stand by the victims.
Citing the Directorate of Meteorology, Shafiqul Alam said that the flood situation has arisen due to heavy rains for a long time. Besides, one of the causes of floods is the drying up of rivers and canals.
