Bangladeshi ship captured by pirates in Indian Ocean

A Bangladesh flagged ship has been captured by pirates in the Indian Ocean. The name of the ship is MV Abdullah. The ship is owned by KSRM Group. The group came to know that the ship was captured by pirates at one o’clock on Tuesday.

Mehrul Karim, Chief Executive Officer of KSRM Group, told Prothom Alo that the ship was captured by pirates in the Indian Ocean on its way to the United Arab Emirates with coal from Mozambique. 23 sailors of the ship are safe.

Mehrul Karim said that they are trying to communicate with the sailors of the ship after learning about the incident.

The vessel was procured by KSRM Group last year. The ship built in 2016 is 190 meters long. The vessel was carrying general cargo after joining the fleet of KSRM Group.
