Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “Jamaat-Shibir, BNP militants have attacked us today.”

He said this during a meeting with central leaders of 14 parties at Ganabhaban on Monday (July 29) afternoon.

Commenting on the recent events centered around the quota reform movement as a militant act, the Prime Minister said, “The events taking place in Bangladesh are not actually political. It is completely militant act. The camp, Chhatra Dal, BNP-Jamaat were here, they were the militants. These militants have attacked us today.

Regarding the anti-discrimination student movement, he said, their intention is now understood that quota is not an issue. One by one, the number of institutions that serve Bangladesh, the number of institutions that improve the quality of life of the people of Bangladesh, are to be destroyed. That is to destroy Bangladesh itself.

The Prime Minister said, today there has been development in Bangladesh, as a result of development, Bangladesh has got a seat of prestige in the world today. Hearing the name of Bangladesh, everyone laughs. Everyone looks with respect. We have been able to bring Bangladesh to an international level, through socio-economic development, through infrastructural development.

Sheikh Hasina said, My parents killed everyone. Even then, the fate of the people of this country will change only by bringing that trouble to the chest, the people will be a little better. People will have a better life. Internationally, as a nation that won the liberation war, we can stand with our heads high and walk with honor. I have brought that honor to Bangladesh. No one can deny that. Where Bangladesh will go today, if you hear it, you will see it with respect and dignity.
