Who doesn’t seek compassion and empathy as from a family member? With this mission in mind, the BRAC Healthcare Center embarked on its journey last March in Kazipara, Dhaka, standing by patients and their families with unwavering support. This year, BRAC Healthcare has inaugurated its second branch in Uttara.

The second healthcare center was opened on Wednesday at House No. 15, Road No. 12, Sector 6 of Uttara by BRAC’s Executive Director Asif Saleh. This facility aims to provide an empathetic environment for healthcare services, housing family physicians, first aid care, specialist consultations, health and wellness services, nutrition, physiotherapy, mental health counseling, dental care, a diagnostic center, and a modern pharmacy under one roof.

During the opening ceremony, Asif Saleh remarked, “We often resign ourselves to not finding good doctors or healthcare services when in need, considering it a blessing if we do. We want to change this scenario. Patient-centered healthcare is the core principle of BRAC Healthcare.” He expressed hope that the quality of care provided by BRAC would inspire others to improve their service standards, leading to positive changes across the healthcare sector.

Mohammad Anisur Rahman, a senior director at BRAC Enterprise, shared that their goal over the past year was to offer high-quality services and a positive experience to patients. He believes they have largely achieved this goal, with over 90% of those who received care from the Kazipara Healthcare Center expressing satisfaction with the service process.

The Uttara BRAC Healthcare Center is an outpatient clinic offering a comprehensive range of health services for families, including X-rays, ECG, ultrasounds, and all types of pathology tests. It features a qualified team of pathologists and a state-of-the-art laboratory for accurate and timely diagnostic results. A pharmacy approved by the Bangladesh Drug Administration, staffed by trained pharmacists, ensures the availability of safe medications. Regular dental check-ups, teeth cleaning, cosmetic fillings, and tooth extractions are among the various services provided.

Exactly one year ago, in March last year, the first BRAC Healthcare Center was launched in Kazipara, serving over 11,000 patients to date. Among these, 50% are women, and 22% of the patients are under 15 years old. People from various segments of society have availed services from BRAC Healthcare, which plans to open more branches in other areas of the city this year to bring positive changes in healthcare for the middle-income population. Gradual expansion into other regions of the country is also planned.
