For the third consecutive day, extremely intense heat is sweeping over Chuadanga district.

The temperature of the district was recorded at 42.6 degrees Celsius at 3 pm on Saturday (April 27). The humidity in the air is 48 percent.

According to Chuadanga First Class Meteorological Observatory, the highest temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in the district last Saturday (April 20). Then Sunday (April 21) 42.2 degrees, Monday (April 22) 40.6 degrees, Tuesday (April 23) 39.6 degrees, Wednesday (April 24) 41.2 degrees, Thursday (April 25) 42.2 degrees And on Friday (April 26) the temperature was 42.7 degrees Celsius.

Today at 12 noon, the highest temperature recorded in this district was 39.3 degrees Celsius. The humidity in the air is 22 percent. At 3 pm, the temperature rose by 3 degrees to 42.6 degrees Celsius. Air humidity is 48 percent.

Rakibul Hasan, Senior Meteorological Observer of Chuadanga Meteorological Observatory, said that since the beginning of April, mild, moderate, severe and very severe heat wave has been flowing over Chuadanga district. The ongoing heat wave will continue until it rains. There is no chance of normal rainfall in April. During this time, the discomfort may increase due to the excess of water vapor.

He also said that the temperature of Chuadanga is likely to increase till April 30. He requested everyone to be careful.

Meanwhile, the townships of the region have become hot as a result of continuous heatwaves. Day and night are almost equally hot. To get some relief from this heat, many people are taking bath in electric deep tubewell water. Many people are drinking dab and cold lemonade to get satisfaction.

Nasreen Akhter, who came to the raw market in Chuadanga city, said, ‘When you go out in this summer, you feel thirsty. The body sweats a lot. I came to the market, it seems that the body is burning on fire. So I came to the sherbet shop to eat lemon sherbet.’

A day laborer named Amir Hossain was drying corn in a paddy field of Jibannagar upazila. He said, ‘In this hot sun to dry the corn, it seems like I am drying myself. That’s why I’m taking water from hand to mouth.’
