Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam said that smart citizens are first needed to build a smart Bangladesh. The children of today are the smart citizens of tomorrow. So everyone will be brought under hundred percent vaccination.

At this time, he mentioned the further increase in the capacity of DNCC in vaccination.

He said these things at the E-Tracker, GIS-Based Online Micro Planning & Real-Time Reporting program organized at DNCC’s head office Nagar Bhaban on Monday (April 29).

He said, if it is possible to vaccinate children on time then they will have healthy strength from childhood. If the City Corporation needs more vaccinators for this, the City Corporation will also arrange them.

He also said that at one time it was very difficult to carry out vaccination programs in this country. Bangladesh has achieved success in vaccination today. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina won the Vaccine Hero Award. This is Bangladesh, this is the success of Bangladesh.

DNCC Mayor said the information of all children is coming to us with the help of e-tracker GIS. It is a good initiative for future planning.

Mentioned, under this digital platform, Dhaka North City Corporation vaccination program with the support of UNICEF, e-tracker program is running successfully from October 2023 and GIS based online microplan and daily reporting from January 2024. In order to make EPI program more successful, Dhaka North City Corporation is conducting evening immunization program for children of working mothers from 2018 and Friday session from 2023 with the support of UNICEF. As of 2022, DNCC has 85 immunization workers conducting EPI activities. Through whom 170 vaccination centers are being run. Through this till now 79 thousand 532 children have received vaccination services in 2023 and 39 thousand 591 children in 2024. 82 thousand (70%) children have been registered in e-tracker against the DNCC target of 1 lakh 20 thousand children. Also 100% GIS based online microplanning has been completed and daily online reporting is ongoing. In addition, in 2023, 1 thousand 936 zero dose and 11 thousand 170 partially vaccinated children and till March 2024, 1 thousand 81 zero dose and 8 thousand 511 partially vaccinated children were found and vaccinated.
