The holy month of Ramadan is coming to an end. Muslims around the world are preparing to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. According to astronomical calculations, the month of Ramadan may be 30 days this year. As a result, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr may be held on April 10 (Wednesday) in the Middle East country of Saudi Arabia and many of its neighboring countries. Generally Eid is celebrated in Bangladesh the day after Eid is celebrated in Middle Eastern countries. Accordingly, Eid-ul-Fitr may be held in Bangladesh on April 11.
Eid-ul-Fitr depends on the sighting of the moon. Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic (Hijri) calendar, begins with the sighting of the moon. A lunar month is 29 or 30 days long. That is why Muslims usually have to wait until the night before Eid to know the date of the holy Eid.

Tomorrow, Monday (April 8), the 29th fast will be observed in Middle Eastern countries. Saudi Arabia and other countries called on citizens to see the moon of the month of Shawwal on that day.
If the new moon of Shawwal is sighted on Monday, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the Middle Eastern countries on Tuesday (April 9). And if the moon is not seen, Muslims will fast one more day to complete 30 fasts. In that case, Eid-ul-Fitr will be held on April 10 in the Middle East.
According to the Islamic calendar, each Arabic month is either 29 or 30 days long, depending on the sighting of the moon. If the moon is seen in the sky of Saudi Arabia on Monday, the holy month of Ramadan will be 29 days in the country. The next day (Tuesday) the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country.
