15 people have died so far due to sudden floods in Comilla, Feni, Lakshmipur in the eastern part of the country. Besides, 48 ​​lakh 69 thousand 299 people of 11 districts have been affected by this flood.
The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief informed this information in a statement on Friday (August 23) evening.

According to the report, Feni, Comilla, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Lakshipur and Cox’s Bazar have been affected by the flash floods. 77 upazilas and 589 unions or municipalities of these districts have been flooded. In these 11 districts, a total of 9 lakh 46 thousand 769 families have become watertight. So that the total number of affected people is 48 lakh 69 thousand 299 people.
According to the information of 15 people who have died in the flood so far, two of them are women. And district-wise, 4 people died in Comilla, 1 in Feni, 4 in Chittagong, 1 in Noakhali, 1 in Brahmanbaria, 1 in Laxmipur and 3 in Cox’s Bazar. A total of 3,176 shelters have been opened to provide shelter to stranded or affected people and a total of 1 lakh 95,300 in the shelters. The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief also said that people and 18 thousand 96 cattle have been sheltered.

The report also said that a total of 639 medical teams are operational to provide medical services to the victims of 11 districts. It has also been informed that 20 thousand 150 tons of rice has been allocated from the ministries to the flood-affected areas so far.
