The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Dhaka has launched a temporary walk-in scheme for single-entry tourist (C1) visas, effective 1 September 2025. The walk-in window runs Sunday to Thursday, 09:00–12:00, and operates on a token system issued at the main gate. Applicants must be present in person to collect a token; one token is issued per passport and reservations are not permitted.
What the scheme covers
The walk-in arrangement applies only to tourist visa applications. Group submissions are limited (max. 10 passports per company per day), and religious group entries (Tabligh Jamaat) are capped at 10 passports daily. Non-tourist categories such as business, service or meeting visas must use the embassy’s appointment channels and cannot use the walk-in queue.
Documents required (quick list)
• Visa form and statement letter (available via the QR codes on the embassy notice).
• Original passport plus copy with at least six months’ validity.
• Proof of funds — recent bank statements showing a stable balance (guidance on the notice cites approx. USD 2,000) and an original bank cheque where requested.
• Return flight booking and accommodation confirmation (or invitation/guarantee letter if staying with family in Indonesia).
• Two recent passport-size photos on a white background, travel history list (last five years), cover letter explaining purpose, travel insurance, and supporting IDs (marriage certificate for accompanying spouses, trade license/TIN for business owners, company/organization IDs where applicable).
Processing time and caveats
The embassy notice estimates visa processing and delivery will take approximately 30 days from submission. Applicants should note this is an estimate: e-Visa channels may have shorter nominal processing times, while embassy walk-in volumes and seasonal peaks can lengthen waits. Incomplete or inaccurate applications will be rejected, so double-check documents before submission.
How token distribution and conduct work
Tokens are handed out at the main gate starting at 9:00 AM daily; applicants must be physically present to collect them. Security and staff instructions must be followed; disruptive behaviour or attempts to bypass the queue will lead to disqualification from that day’s submissions.
Practical tips before you go
• Fill and print the visa form and statement letter linked via the embassy QR codes to speed your visit.
• Bring original documents and clean photocopies; label items clearly.
• Arrive early and be prepared to queue for token collection.
• If applying for non-tourist visas, contact the embassy via its consular email to request an appointment.
• Confirm current processing estimates directly with the embassy before travel — times can change during busy periods.
