Internet is getting slow all over the country. This problem has arisen mainly because the bandwidth supply of the second submarine cable (CMUI-5) has completely stopped. This slow internet can be noticeable.
The problem started after 12:00 pm on Friday (April 19). It may take more than three days to resolve the issue. As this problem can become evident, Internet service providers have urged to find alternative solutions.
It is known that this crisis has been created due to the ‘break’ of the fiber cable in Singapore. However, due to the fiber break in Singapore, this situation has been created on the Internet in some other countries besides Bangladesh.
In this regard, Managing Director of Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited Mirza Kamal Ahmed said that it may take more than three days to repair the internet problem. They are trying to reduce the suffering of customers at this time.
At present 1600 Gbps bandwidth is provided in the country with SIMUI-5. This supply is completely closed. Attempts are being made to maintain Internet supply through alternative means with SIMUI-4 (the first submarine cable).
Currently, there is a demand of 5,500 bandwidth in the country. Of these, the state-owned submarine cable company provides more than 250,000 bandwidths. The remaining demand is met by International Terrestrial Cable (ITC).
