The body of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was buried at the Lucille Royal Cemetery in Qatar. Earlier today, Friday (August 2), his funeral was held at Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab, the country’s largest mosque. Israel was blamed for his murder. The killings have deepened fears of regional tensions.

Earlier, his second funeral was held in the country’s largest mosque. Many Arab and Islamic leaders attended Hania’s funeral.
Haniya’s coffin was draped in a Palestinian flag as it was carried into the mosque. The bodyguard’s coffin was also with him.
Ismail Hania was assassinated in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on Wednesday. The day before, he traveled to Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s new president, Massoud Pezheshkian. After the ceremony, Hania went to a guest house in Tehran. He was killed along with one of his bodyguards in a bomb explosion there.
