Occupier Israel has rejected a new ceasefire proposal made by the Palestinian armed group Hamas. On Friday (March 15), Hamas made a new proposal. They said that they will release the sick, old and women hostages in the first phase of the ceasefire. In return, Israel must release 700 to 1,000 Palestinian prisoners. Among which there are 100 life prisoners. Hamas will release all the hostages in the second phase after the first phase. After that, the date of permanent ceasefire will be announced.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not agree to Hamas’ proposal.
Israeli media The Times of Israel reported that Netanyahu met with the wartime cabinet regarding Hamas’s proposal for a cease-fire. At the end of the meeting, he said, this new proposal by Hamas is “still absurd.”

In addition, Netanyahu supported the occupation forces’ plan to attack Rafah, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
“The Israeli Defense Forces are ready to attack Rafah and evacuate the civilian population,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

Other countries of the world, including the United States, have opposed any kind of military aggression in Rafah. They said that if the army attacks Rafah, there will be a catastrophic situation. 1.3 million people are currently sheltering in Rafah to escape the barbaric attacks of the occupying Israelis.

The Netanyahu-led wartime cabinet has given the green light to plans to launch an attack on Rafah despite the international community’s objections.

The statement from Israel’s prime minister’s office also said it would send a new delegation to Qatar to discuss a ceasefire “after the wartime cabinet discusses Israel’s position”.
