  • Update Time : Saturday, September 7, 2024

The three months from June to August this year were the warmest on record for the entire world. The average temperature of the world during these three months was 16.82 degrees Celsius. Never before has this temperature been seen around the world.

Qatar-based media Al Jazeera reported this information on Friday (September 6).
According to the report, Samantha Burgess, deputy director of the European Climate Change Monitoring and Research Organization Copernicus, said that from June to August, the Northern Hemisphere has summer, while the Southern Hemisphere has winter. Never before has a Northern Hemisphere summer seen global average temperatures rise this much. 2024 is now the hottest year on earth in known history.

Also, as Samantha Burgess notes, the cyclical weather event El Niño in 2023 and early 2024 has warmed the surface waters of the eastern Pacific Ocean.

But agency scientist Julien Nicolas said previous effects of El Niño had never been as strong as those seen in the last three months.
