The burial of Khalid Hossain, the lead vocalist of the band ‘Chime’, a popular musician of the eighties and nineties, has been completed. He was laid to rest next to his parents in the municipal cemetery of Getpara area after Bad Johar Janaza at the SM Model Government High School ground in Gopalganj on Tuesday (March 19).

Gopalganj sadar upazila executive officer on behalf of Gopalganj district administration before the funeral. Various organizations including Mohsin Uddin, elder brother Mejba Uddin Hasan, district Udichi paid tribute to the deceased.

Musician Khalid Hosan was taken to a hospital in the capital after suffering a heart attack on Monday (March 18) evening. The doctor on duty there declared him dead. After that, Khalid’s first funeral was held at 11:00 PM at Jame Masjid, Green Road, Dhaka. Later, the family members reached the residence of Gopalganj city around 3:30 pm with his body. When the body reached Gopalganj, classmates, friends and fans thronged the house to see Khalid for the last time.

Khalid’s funeral was scheduled to be held at Johor Gopalganj Court Mosque on Tuesday. The singer’s funeral was organized at the SM Model Govt High School grounds where he studied. Imam Maulana of District Court Mosque led the funeral. Hafizur Rahman. Hundreds of people including singer-composer Prince Mahmud, musicians Khalid’s relatives, neighbors, fans, well-wishers, members of various local organizations of Gopalganj, local people were present.

After the janaza, Khalid’s body was taken to the municipal cemetery of Getpara area. He was laid to rest there next to his parents’ graves.
