It has been reported that the film “Tufan,” directed by Raihan Rafi, was shown in cinemas without the approval of the censor board, disregarding rules and regulations. The film community has leveled numerous accusations against Raihan Rafi’s movie. Previously, this director had faced criticism multiple times for violating censorship regulations. Recently, several negative activities of Raihan Rafi have come to the attention of the censor board while digging deeper into this movie. This has led the board officials to rethink the censor certificate for the film.

The movie has recently been submitted for censorship ahead of Eid. It is scheduled to be screened by the censor board on Tuesday, June 4. Multiple sources from the censor board have confirmed that the film will be watched with extra caution due to the various allegations. The film will be reviewed considering the allegations against it, and then a decision regarding the certificate will be made based on the opinions of all board members. Some scenes might be cut if there are objections!

Although the movie starring the country’s top hero, Shakib Khan, has generated audience interest, it has faced heavy criticism following the release of the teaser and songs, with accusations of plagiarism. The movie has been tarnished with accusations of copying even before its release, causing an uproar among netizens.

Meanwhile, the production company of the movie has been accused of violating laws. The Bangladesh Film Censor Board has received complaints that the teaser was shown in theaters without censor clearance. On May 10, the teaser for “Tufan” was shown at the “Gulshan” cinema hall in Narayanganj at the 12 PM show without the board’s permission. A source stated that the censor board is taking this law violation very seriously.

If everything goes well, the movie is expected to be released this upcoming Eid-ul-Adha. However, there is a cloud of uncertainty in the film community regarding whether the movie will be released with cuts.

“Tufan” is based on the story of a gangster, depicting scenes from the 1990s. The plot revolves around the story of a renowned gangster of that era. Shakib Khan stars opposite Dhaka’s Masuma Rahman Nabila and Kolkata’s Mimi Chakraborty. Chanchal Chowdhury plays a special role in the film. The movie is co-produced by Chorki, Alpha I, and India’s SVF.
