Islam’s second holiest site, the Holy Mosque of the Prophet in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, has recorded prayers during the month of Ramadan. According to the official statistics of Saudi Arabia, more than two crore Muslims offered prayers in the first 20 days of this holy month.

Saudi Arabia’s state-owned news agency SPA says that at the same time, a total of 655,227 worshipers, including 296,595 women, prayed at Al Rawza Al-Sharifah Mosque.

In the mosque of the holy city of Madinah, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is located in Nawabi. Muslims wishing to visit Al Rawza Al-Sharifah and pray there must obtain permission from the Saudi government before arriving.

The state body overseeing Masjid al-Nababi said services are being provided through an integrated network to ensure worshipers can worship in comfort. The presence of worshipers there is gradually increasing ahead of the last Ramadan next Tuesday.

There was a large presence of worshipers at Masjid an-Nabawi yesterday to offer the weekly Friday prayers on the last Friday of Ramadan. According to SPA, the roof and square of Masjid al-Nababi were already prepared for worshipers to pray; So that the worshipers can pray in a calm and beautiful environment.

Usually during the month of Ramadan, Muslims from different parts of the world rush to Mecca to perform Umrah at Kaaba, the holiest place in Islam. After performing Umrah, many people go to Masjid an-Nabawi to offer prayers and visit Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

According to Saudi government statistics, more than 280 million Muslims offered prayers at Masjid al-Nabawi last year. However, this year it is expected to exceed that number.
