Today marks the 72nd birthday of Bangladesh’s late legendary actor, Humayun Faridi. If he were alive, he would have celebrated this milestone on Wednesday, May 29. Known for his captivating performances on stage, television, and in films, Faridi’s legacy continues to inspire and entertain.

Humayun Faridi was often described as a brilliant star in the acting world. His talent and charisma left a lasting impression on audiences. Faridi played a pivotal role in popularizing stage and TV dramas during the 1980s and 1990s. Throughout his illustrious three-decade career, he delivered numerous memorable performances in both dramas and films.
Award-Winning Performances
In recognition of his exceptional acting skills, Faridi received the National Film Award for Best Actor in 2004 for his role in the film “Motherhood.” He starred in several popular movies, including “Terror,” “Bhanda,” “Bachelor,” “Jayatra,” “Shyamalchaya,” “Ekattare Jesus,” “Mayer Ryoda,” “Bishwapremik,” and “Palabi Keer.”
Personal Life and Legacy
Faridi’s personal life saw him first marry Minu from Faridpur, with whom he had a daughter, Devyani. His second marriage to renowned actress Subarna Mustafa ended in 2008. Humayun Faridi passed away on February 13, 2012, leaving behind a rich legacy in Bangladeshi performing arts. In 2018, he was posthumously awarded the Ekushey Padak for Dance and Acting.
