The death toll has risen to 67 due to ongoing floods in 11 districts of the country. The highest number of deaths was in Feni, 26 people. Besides, more than 6 lakh families are water-locked. On Monday (September 2), the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief announced this information in the latest update on the flood situation.
According to the ministry, the 11 districts of the flood-affected districts are – Feni, Comilla, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Lakshipur and Cox’s Bazar. The flood situation in Chittagong, Khagrachari, Habiganj Sylhet, Brahmanbaria and Cox’s Bazar districts is completely normal. The flood situation in Moulvibazar has improved and the flood situation in Feni, Comilla, Noakhali and Lakshipur districts is improving.

68 flooded upazilas. In the affected 504 unions and municipalities, 6 lakh 5 thousand 767 families are in water-tight condition.

The death toll in the flood is 67. Among them 42 men, 7 women and 18 children. 17 died in Comilla, 26 in Feni, 6 in Chittagong, 1 in Khagrachari, 11 in Noakhali, 1 in Brahmanbaria, 1 in Lakshipur, 3 in Cox’s Bazar and 1 in Moulvibazar. One person is still missing in Moulvibazar.

The notification also informed that 3 lakh 6 thousand 741 people and 32 thousand 830 cattle have been sheltered in a total of 3 thousand 615 shelters. A total of 472 medical teams are operational to provide medical services to the victims of eleven districts.
