The moon of the month of Shawwal has been sighted in Pakistan, a Muslim-dominated country in South Asia. As a result, the country will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow, Wednesday (April 9).

According to the report, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of the country has announced that the moon of the month of Shawwal has been seen in Pakistan today. So the month of Ramadan ends today. As such, there have been 29 fasts in the country this year. And tomorrow, Wednesday, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated.

The announcement came after a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee at the Federal Secretariat’s Kohsar Block in Islamabad.

The meeting was chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and was attended by members of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee as well as officials of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Superco and Ministry of Science and Technology.

In a press conference after the meeting, Maulana Azad said that moon sightings have been reported from most parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday (tomorrow) in several countries of the world as the moon was not seen on Monday. Eid will be celebrated tomorrow in Pakistan along with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and Australia.
