Today is March 8 International Women’s Day. The day is observed every year around the world to recognize the work of women, establish equal rights between women and men, prevent violence against women, celebrate women’s achievements and show respect and honor to women.
This year’s theme of Women’s Day is ‘Equal rights, equal opportunities, investment to advance.’ This theme has been set to call on the government as well as private and socio-cultural institutions to come forward with various development projects for the development of women.
On the occasion of the day, President Md. Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages. In the message, they wished and congratulated all the women of the world.

In the speech, the President said that the success of Bangladeshi women around the world today is exemplary and should be followed. In addition to the government, private and socio-cultural institutions should also come forward with various development projects for the development of women.
In his speech, the Prime Minister said that initiatives are being taken to evaluate women’s domestic work and contribution to the national economy. Women of the country will advance through the use of modern technology in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.
