The United Nations Security Council convened to address the pressing issue of generative artificial intelligence (AI). Speakers stressed the importance of ethical governance and international cooperation to ensure AI serves humanity positively, urging the establishment of global standards.

Representatives from various countries, including the UK, China, and Ghana, called for balanced AI development, warning against its militarization and advocating for frameworks that prioritize safety, fairness, and inclusivity. The meeting underscored the urgency of addressing AI’s dual potential to either exacerbate global security threats or drive unprecedented progress.
