Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed hope that the women’s society will advance through the use of modern technology in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.
In a message given on Thursday on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Prime Minister said, I am happy to know that “International Women’s Day” is being celebrated in Bangladesh like other countries of the world. Heartiest greetings and congratulations to all the women of the world on the occasion of the day. This year’s theme of the day- ‘Women’s equal rights, equal opportunities; ‘Investment to be carried forward’ which is very timely.

He said that since 2009, Awami League has been continuously working to ensure the equal participation of men and women in every work. Investments and gender-responsive financing are being promoted to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment in the global context. Various initiatives have been taken by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs to advance women in the economic, social and political context of Bangladesh and to build a better, smart Bangladesh by 2041.
Sheikh Hasina said that mother and child support programs are being implemented with the aim of ensuring mother and child health and making women self-reliant. In order that every woman can prepare herself as an entrepreneur in her own field rather than depending only on the job, initiatives have been taken to market their products along with training programs at the departmental, district and upazila levels. Initiatives are being taken to assess women’s domestic work and contribution to the national economy.
