Father Kashem Shikder (40) was taking his son Mursalin Shikder (8) on a motorcycle to get admission in a madrasa in Faridpur. Brother Nazmul Shikder (35) was with him. On the way, the 3 motorcycle riders were killed by a truck in the Hamirdi bus stand area of Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on the Dhaka-Barisal highway.

The accident happened on Saturday (May 11) around 11:00. Bhanga Highway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdullahil Baki confirmed this information. The deceased are residents of Kahaldia village of Batikamari union of Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj.

According to Bhanga Highway Police sources, three people were killed on the spot when a truck hit the motorcycle from behind at the Hamirdi bus stand on the Dhaka-Barisal highway around 10:30 am today.

Mursalin’s maternal uncle Abu Bakkar said, “My nephew was taking Mursalin to get admission in a madrasa in Faridpur city. The accident happened on the way. I am now at Bhanga Highway Police Station. After the legal process, I will go home with the dead bodies.

Bhanga Highway Police Deputy Inspector (SI) Abdullahel Baki said that the truck and motorcycle involved in the accident were recovered and brought to the police station. Now the bodies are being handed over to the family members. Legal action in this regard is under process.
