TPW Desk: The intern doctors are observing the second consecutive day walkout of the 48-hour strike across the country over payment of arrears and allowance hikes.

Sources said inter doctors’ council at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Rangamati Medical College Hospital, Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, Rangpur Medical College Hospital, and Cumilla Medical College Hospital joined the strike.

The protesters have asked the authorities to increase the salary of intern doctors to Tk 30,000.

Earlier on Saturday, the intern doctors council declared the 48-hour strike from Sunday.
