The advance sale of train tickets has started from Monday (June 3) in view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. However, train tickets are not being sold at any counter. Passengers have to purchase tickets online.
Tickets go on sale at 8am on Monday. As per the decision of Bangladesh Railways, the sale of tickets for all intercity trains running in the western region starts at 8 am to facilitate the purchase of tickets for the common passengers. And the tickets for all the trains running in the eastern region will be sold from 2 pm.
By 9:30 am today, almost all of the 16,000 tickets for the western region have been sold out. That is, from 8:00 am to 8:30 am, against 16,000 tickets in the western region, 1 crore ninety lakh tickets have been tried. In the first half an hour, the survey was hit about two crore times. Tickets for 19 trains in the western region are only 16,000. Today a special train has been added to the western region. So it is understandable how much pressure there is for June 13 tickets. However, on Eid, 100% of the train tickets are being sold online.
Those purchasing tickets today will be able to travel on June 13. A passenger can purchase a maximum of one advance and return ticket on Eid and can purchase a maximum of 4 seat tickets.
In this case, there will be a system to attach the names of fellow passengers in the case of purchasing a maximum of 4 tickets. This Eid Yatra ticket cannot be refunded. To prevent black market of tickets, OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number every time the ticket is purchased.
