Bangladesh Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Arafat held a meeting with Mauritius Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation Deepak Balgobin. The meeting was held in Mauritius on Friday.

In the meeting, they discussed strategies to counter the spread of disinformation on social media. This news was informed in a press release received in Dhaka today Saturday.

In the meeting, mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and Mauritius on the use of satellites, use of technology in sending remittances to expatriate workers, opportunities for Mauritian investors in Bangladesh and various issues of Bangladeshi workers working in Mauritius were discussed.

The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting also visited a spinning mill in Mauritius and inquired and spoke to the Bangladeshi workers working there.

Bangladesh Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting visited Mauritius on April 22 to participate in the first ministerial conference on drug trafficking and drug abuse in the Western Indian Ocean region. Currently he is staying in Mauritius.
