Authorities have evacuated around 100 schools in India’s capital Delhi and neighboring Noida after bomb threats were received through e-mails. After that, the police reached the spot and started searching. But so far nothing suspicious has been found.

This information was informed in a report of Indian media NDTV on Wednesday (May 1).

Video footage aired across the country shows parents standing in front of schools across Delhi and Noida to take their children home. Special police teams, dog squads and bomb disposal units conducted searches in the schools.
Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa told NDTV, “We have taken adequate security measures at schools where bomb threats have been made.” I request parents not to panic. Nothing suspicious has been found so far.

Another police officer said it appears to be fake. Mails were sent to all schools on such a large scale to spread panic.

In a message posted on social media X, the country’s interior ministry said security agencies are taking all necessary steps. Delhi Education Minister Atishi urged people not to panic, saying school authorities would contact parents as needed.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena said the police had traced the source of the bomb threat e-mail. This appears to be a scam. I assure the citizens of Delhi that the police are on the alert and strict action will be taken against this.

A Delhi official said the source of the e-mails threatening schools in Delhi and Noida was Russia. The e-mail was sent from Russia using a VPN, the official said. Delhi Police said that those involved in this incident will face the law.
