Ramadan, the month of fasting, is slowly coming to an end. Happy Eid is approaching. Dhaka University (DU) students have already started leaving the campus to share the joy of Eid with their families.

As the days are approaching, the number of students returning home is also increasing. The halls of residence of the university are becoming empty. Even the familiar noise of the campus has started to ebb.

According to research in the residential halls of the university, almost half of the students have already left the campus with a week left for Eid. The number of students in the campus is decreasing every day.

Now standing in front of the university’s residential halls including Vijay Attar Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall and Zia Hall, bags and various belongings can be seen. This scene is seen especially in the morning and evening. The joy of returning to the village can be seen in the eyes of the students coming out of the halls. The excitement of meeting the family after a long time is falling in their conversation.

Mohammad Siam Kabir, a student of Vijay Attar Hall, left for Mymensingh. He is standing at the gate of the hall with a bag on his back and waiting for a rickshaw. He told Jago News that he does not go home for a long time due to classes and exams. I am going to the village after a long time. Naturally feels great. I am very happy to think that I will have Iftar and Sehri with Abba-Amma in the last few days of Ramadan.

Jannatul Sultana, a student of Shamsunnahar Hall, said that everyone is waiting for a long time at home. At the end of the day, you can’t stand it anymore. How soon will I reach home, the restlessness is working in myself. Due to studies, I have to leave my family and stay outside day after day. Sometimes I miss my parents a lot. I’m going home now, on that Eid – all the joys seem to be united together. It feels so good.

However, there are some painful scenes against the happy scenes of students going home to share this Eid joy. Because many students are not going home because of the exam before the end of the Eid holiday. Some have BCS written exam. They are not going either. Although the number of such students in the residential halls is not very much now.
