Elon Musk’s platform, X, is reportedly arranging a live town hall event featuring Donald Trump, according to The Wall Street Journal. This event is being organized in collaboration with NewsNation and will be broadcast on both X and the cable network.
While the exact date is yet to be determined, sources indicate that X also plans to hold a similar event with presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
This move signals a rekindled relationship between Trump and Musk. After being banned from Twitter following the January 6 Capitol attack, Trump’s account was reinstated in late 2022 when Musk took over. However, Trump has only posted once since his reinstatement.
In related news, there are rumors that Trump might offer Musk an advisory role if he wins the upcoming presidential election. Discussions have reportedly touched on border security and economic policies, though Musk has denied any formal talks about such a role.
Recently, Musk defended Trump following his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records, calling the charges “trivial.” Despite the conviction, some business leaders, including Pershing Square’s Bill Ackman and 1789 Capital’s Omeed Malik, have voiced their support for Trump.
