The entire country has been scorched by intense heat throughout the month of April with the record of highest temperature. To say that there was no rain anywhere. Many people died of heat stroke.
‘April on fire’ is over, the new month of May has begun. Will the intensity of heat be so high in this month? Will the desired rain? Such questions are now in the public mind. These questions have been answered by the Meteorological Department.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast the weather for the entire month of May on Thursday (May 2).
Director of the Department. According to the forecast given by Azizur Rahman, there is a possibility of heat wave, rain, low pressure, cyclone and Kalbaisakhi in May. However, the heat wave will not go to April-like conditions. There will be no heat wave for so long in this month. Temperatures will be slightly lower than April.
According to the forecast, the daytime temperature will be higher than normal in this month. Normal rain may occur. A few heatwaves may occur in some parts of the country.
There may be three to five days of mild Kalbaisakhi in May. Two to three days of moderate to severe thunderstorms with hailstorms are likely. One to two low pressure areas may develop over Bay of Bengal. From there a low pressure can develop into a cyclone.
Meanwhile, after a month-long intense heat wave, there is a possibility of rain in Dhaka today (Thursday) evening. The Meteorological Department has given this information in the weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 9 am today.
It is said that in some places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and two or more places in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Barisal divisions, there may be rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky. However, the heat wave continues over the western part of the country.
The Meteorological Office also said that very intense heat wave is moving over Jessore, Khulna, Chuadanga, Pabna and Rajshahi districts and the remaining parts of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj and Khulna divisions. Besides, mild to moderate heat wave is prevailing elsewhere in the country and it may subside from some parts of the eastern part of the country.
According to the forecast, the temperature is likely to drop across the country as a result of rainfall from May 10 onwards. There is a possibility of rain with gusty winds, gales and thunder storms for the next 5 to 6 days. Then the heat wave may come again.
